Theron and Mary Simons are life-long residents of Naugatuck CT.  Mary and Theron have eleven horses and two dogs.  In addition to working at the store, they founded and operate Hidden Acres Therapeutic Riding Center.  Located at the family farm in Naugatuck, Hidden Acres Therapeutic Riding Center is open to individuals from the northeast that would benefit from equine assisted therapy due to a physical or emotional challenge.

Kathy and Peter La Tronica live with their four horses and four dogs on their farm in Woodbridge CT.  They are actively involved supporting local equestrian and organic farming organizations within the Bethany/Woodbridge community.  When they aren’t playing with their horses and dogs, you can find them at LSB working on the latest things for farms and animals.

Animals and their wellbeing are an inherent part of who we are.  Animals form the fabric of our lives and our dedication to them extends from our personal animals to the products we research for sale in our store.  We are overjoyed at having a beautiful dog park in Woodbridge for our canine friends.

Freyja has been our office dog since the fall of 2017, showing an unwavering commitment to employee health and well-being – helping our employees reduce their food intake and instituting her “Take a Paws” canine relaxation initiative. She also suggested we put our money where our mouth was and support the Woodbridge Dog Park Cooperative, and we can’t wait for her to have a dog park in Woodbridge where she can romp with her friends!

 In Memory of Robert Schulz

The Woodbridge community of dog lovers lost one of their own when Robert Schulz passed away on Nov. 27 at the age of 70.

A Woodbridge resident since 1976, Bob was a retired attorney who also enjoyed a professional life that included time as a chemical engineer, a maple syrup entrepreneur, and an enthusiastic dog sitter.  According to his family, Bob never met a dog he didn’t like.

The Schulz Family asked that Bob be remembered by donations to the Woodbridge Dog Park in his name. We couldn’t be more honored by this loving and generous gesture.
